Swept up in the frantic city lifestyle, time goes by and there are few opportunities to take a break. The only divine moment is your daily beauty routine: cleanser, serum, day cream, eye contour, etc. These are essential care to keep your skin looking young. But even better, once a week, face masks act deeply in your skin, and let you enjoy a true moment of well-being. All you need to know about face masks to make them your beauty ally.

What are face masks for?

While our skins reflect our lifestyles, other factors like polluted air, UV rays, stress, or even poor diets directly impact our skin’s health. Exposure to these factors makes it weak and vulnerable. The result? A dull complexion, blackheads, age spots, and pimples make themselves at home. Use face masks as a kickstart in combination with your daily beauty steps to reduce imperfections.

Hydrating, soothing, anti-age spots, etc. There are many kinds of masks that are adapted to and friendly to each skin. Used once or twice per week, face masks are very concentrated in active ingredients, and their thick texture acts deep on the different layers of the skin. Their benefits vary, depending on the mask: they nourish the skin, unclog pores, reduce age spots, regulate sebum and can restore your skin’s hydrolipidic film. In short, it’s an excellent source of rejuvenation to boost and revitalize your skin!

How to choose the right face mask?

Choose among detox, purifying, hydrating masks or other kinds…There is a face mask for every skin problem. To choose yours, identify what your skin’s needs are beforehand.

Choosing a targeted anti-age mask

To fight signs of aging, there’s nothing better than an anti-aging mask rich with tightening and plumping active ingredients that replenish the skin. In addition to deeply hydrating the skin, the face mask will stimulate cell regeneration. Ideal to make your skin look new!

  • Our recommended product to plump your skin:

The Youth Reviver Age-Defense Mask corrects wrinkles for a softer skin using two high-end active ingredient complexes that rebuilds skin cells. Your true partner at the first sign of wrinkles.

Choosing a hydrating mask

Skins become dehydrated from a lack of water in the epidermis. This type of skin will need hydrating active ingredients and soothing agents to reinforce the skin’s natural barrier and get a softer and visibly younger skin.

  • Our recommended product to hydrate your skin:

The Hydrasea Thirst-Relief Rehydrating Mask hydrates and refreshes the skin to get a softer, more comfortable feel. Instantly visible results.

Choosing a purifying mask

Dilated and clogged pores, pimples, blackheads…Imperfections that come with combination to oily skins. These skin types must use masks that are concentrated in purifying and absorbing active ingredients. The objective? Cleanse your pores and regulate your sebum production to let your skin breathe again. A true detox!

  • Our recommended product to purify your skin:

The Oligopur Flawless Skin Mask with a mousse-cream texture mattifies your skin and eliminates imperfections in combination to oily skins. Pores are visibly reduced as of the first use.

Did you know? Combination skins will be able to apply this mask only on the T-zone and use a hydrating product in the other zones. This “multimask” provides specific benefits to each part of your face.

Choosing a soothing mask

Sensitive skin, which is fragile and often dry, adores silky textures and creams with soothing active ingredients to reduce feelings of discomfort. Soothing masks help reinforce the hydrolipidic film, which protects the skin — they are a true source of comfort for sensitive skins.

  • Our recommended product to soothe your skin:

The Douceur Marine Soothing Cocoon Mask instantly soothes the most sensitive skins. Formulated with Marine Spring Water, its creamy texture calms the skin to give it an instant feeling of comfort.

How to apply a face mask?

To maximize the benefits of a face mask, it is recommended to apply it after bathing. The water vapors dilate the pores and eliminate impurities, making it the perfect moment for the active ingredients to diffuse.

  • Before applying your mask, clean your skin to remove all impurities. For your skin to best absorb your product, you can do a scrub to exfoliate the dead skin cells clogging your skin, heightening skin rejuvenation.
  • Take a generous amount of the product and apply it on the whole of the face using a finger or brush, avoiding the eye contour area. Start at the center line (forehead, nose, chin) and spread to both sides, making sure not to forget your neck.
  • Leave on for 5 to 15 minutes. Depending on the chosen mask, resting times may vary: make sure to read the instructions! Never leave your mask on longer than as instructed.
  • Finish by massaging the excess product using small circular movements.
  • Rinse your face with lukewarm water without rubbing. Then apply your daily care.

How often should you use a face mask?

Once or twice a week, not more. Besides pampering your skin, take this moment to indulge yourself in a moment just for you. Tea in one hand, a book in the other…You’re ready!
